Despite its recent formation, FFAME has been under development for over a decade.  The chief founders of FFAME are all experts in there respective fields.  Specifically, David and Joe are both experts and published authors in the area of health and wellness.  Through a unique set of circumstances their diverse talents combined to develop a health curriculum for individuals, families, and schools. 

Most people have watched multiple health related shows or read many books and articles on health.  We are confident your schools and families have often discussed the topic of health and wellness.  The FFAME program is a combination of tools designed to inspire action.  As professional educators, David and Joe have a three fold mission every time they teach.  First, you must be entertained, because if you’re not listening you’re not learning.  Second, it is critical that you walk away with usable knowledge.  Third, and most importantly, you must be inspired to apply that wisdom to better your life and the lives of others.

 FFAME FOUNDERS

David Sandler, MS, SPS, CSCS*D, HFD, HFI, FNSCA

David is the President and Co-Founder of StrengthPro Inc. He is a doctoral candidate at the University of Miami where he was the former Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach and head of Baseball during their 1999 National Championship season. He was an Assistant Professor of Kinesiology and Sports Science for 6 years at Florida International University where he developed and directed the Strength and Conditioning education curriculum before moving on to Florida Atlantic University for 1 year. Sandler has been a strength and conditioning coach and consultant for more than 18 years working with some of the world’s best athletes. He is a highly sought after presenter with more then 300 International, National and Regional lectures to his credit. Sandler has authored or co-authored 5 books: Sports Power, Weight Training Fundamentals, The Resistance Band Workout Book, Plyo Power, and Strength Training Everyone as well as having developed dozens of exercise videos including 3 coaching developmental videos titled Plyometrics Training, Speed and Power Training, and Vertical JumpTraining. David has published more than 20 scientific articles and abstracts and more than 200 articles in power, strength and fitness training for various magazines and literature. David is the Chairman of The Arnold Strength Training Summit at the Arnold Classic as well as chair and program developer for several other industry fitness conferences. Sandler is a faculty member for many of the top fitness and personal trainer certification organizations as well as the recipient of the Faculty of the Year Award in 2005 for the International Fitness Professionals Association (IFPA) and distinguished Fellow of the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Additionally he regularly serves in a developmental capacity for other top fitness organizations, equipment manufacturers, and professional sports franchises. Sandler has been the lead exercise and sports physiologist for more then 30 episodes of television for National Geographic’s series Fight Science, Super Strength, the Science of Steroids, and Impossible Science, and the Emmy Award winning Sport Science series on Fox Sports Network. In addition, Sandler was the Science Advisor and Sports Physiologist for Jesse James is a Dead Man, the series, with Spike TV. He is a regular column author, consultant and 10 year member of the advisory board for Muscle and Fitness Magazine as well as other mainstream fitness publications and regularly acts as an expert for more than a dozen top publications.

Joseph B. Goodwin A.K.A. Coach Goody, MA

For the past 12 years Joe Goodwin has been a teacher of science, health, and physical education at the university, middle and elementary school level. Joe has been a leader in the field of education providing numerous trainings on both the state and district stage. During his time as an elementary physical education teacher Coach Goody recognized the need to enhance the health curriculum that appeared to be nonexistent. As a result, he developed and implemented the Health Talk Video program with tremendous success. Most recently, Goodwin published his first book, The Bathroom Mirror: A Lifelong Health and Wellness Journey. In 2007, Coach Goody was voted by his peers to be Teacher of the Year at Myrtle Beach Elementary School. He is presently a National Board Certified teacher and professor in the physical education department at Coastal Carolina University.

 Dr. Frederick W. Daniels, MD ~ FAAP

Dr. Daniels is a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed his residency training at New York University and the Medical University of South Carolina where he also served as chief resident. He has been board certified since 1991 and is recognized as a Fellow by the American Academy of Pediatrics. He has been in private practice in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina since 1992 and is currently on the medical staff at Grand Stand Regional Medical Center. Dr. Daniels is a member of the Horry County Medical Society and the SC chapter of the Academy of Pediatrics. His particular clinical interests include epidemiology and the diagnosis and management of childhood obesity.

 Nelson Watkins ~ Owner Sunbeam Productions

Nelson Watkins is currently the president of Sunbeam Productions.  Sunbeam began in 2003 and specializes in producing educational materials, TV commercials, infomercials, as well as industrial training videos.  Nelson has over 22 years experience in the television and film production industry.  His career began at a TV station in New York while he was a senior in high school.  It was there that his love for editing and all aspects of producing film was born.  He later retreated to the warmer climate of the Florence – Myrtle Beach area where he was made Executive Director of the WBTW CBS Channel 13 News.  Nelson’s numerous film awards include six Addy Awards from the Association of Coastal Advertising and Marketing Professionals.
